One of my biggest heroes passed away one year ago today. Doug Tompkins was a legend and a successful businessman who used the fruits of his labor to make our planet a much better place. From establishing first ascents throughout the 60's and 70's to establishing brands, The Northface and Esprit, and finally giving it all back to preserve and establish national parks in Patagonia. If only more of the world was like Doug. I'll always be inspired by his legacy. RIP Doug Tompkins.
