It's been a busy busy busy eventful summer full of busy things and unusually warm weather. The root of our busyness draws from yet another milestone. This milestone goes by the name of Brooks City Cabin. For the first time in over a decade I am a homeowner.

Nestled within the and SW hills of Portland lies our tree covered cedar shake mid century modern abode. Very happy to come home to this every day and have our own little slice of PNW nature.

One of these days, maybe I will have lived here long enough to stop gushing (pun intended) over all the beautiful blue/green rivers and waterfalls. OPAL CREEK  I've never seen such coke bottle green nor felt such cold water in my 36 years on this planet. I had been reading about this place for a while now and was incredibly stoked to take advantage of a workless Monday to see if for myself. Unfortunately, one full dip resulted in my entire body seizing up and I realized it's still a little too cold for a nice swim. On the other hand, I did get the opportunity to learn what it would be like to live life as an ice cube.

While Mrs. Wife and I are anxiously hoping to join the Portland workforce, we are also taking advantage of some of our free days and visiting the places that we know will be overly crowded during the Portland summer weekends.
