Here we are knee deep in fall and I'm left wondering where summer has gone. Our unusually hot summer came to a close and I'm more than relieved that cooler weather is upon us. As I began reflecting on our record breaking summer I remember that I never got round to acknowledging that we made it through our first Portland winter and didn't lose our minds. After having lived the previous 3.5 years in Los Angeles, I was extremely concerned that the lack of sun and abundance of rain, sleet, and snow would cause me to lose my mind. However, this past exceptionally icy and wet winter didn't seem to phase either of us.

We were just happy to see the seasons again, despite the fact that Portland doesn't know how to handle snow.
