As I sit here at 11:45pm, waiting for an edit to wrap, I realize that I am streaming this Valley Uprising on Netflix for the 25th time. If you haven't seen it you should. If you grew up skating and being influenced by counter culture then you would enjoy this film. Climbing, a sport that I unfortunately didn't immerse myself in until my early 30's shares similar characteristics and origins to that of skateboarding. Even to the point of having recently inched towards the mainstream. I assume the frustrations I had accepting the mainstream appeal of skating in the late 90's are similar to those of the folks who've been climbing long before now. But hey, I love it and you're never too old for a good time. Watch the doc. It's fantastic.

Happy 100th Bday to the US National Parks. I don't know where my childhood, adulthood, and country would be without you. I'm thankful that 100 years ago, two men stood triumphantly against shortsighted, money-hungry oppositions and saved these places for all of us to enjoy.

One of these days, maybe I will have lived here long enough to stop gushing (pun intended) over all the beautiful blue/green rivers and waterfalls. Earlier this year I had the opportunity to shoot a lifestyle campaign for an undisclosed German sneaker brand, featuring an undisclosed blonde supermodel.  It was a great experience and I can say with confidence that I'm happy to be Art Directing shoots again after having gone a year and a half away from it.

I don't need to say much more about our holiday than brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr............

OPAL CREEK  I've never seen such coke bottle green nor felt such cold water in my 36 years on this planet. I had been reading about this place for a while now and was incredibly stoked to take advantage of a workless Monday to see if for myself. Unfortunately, one full dip resulted in my entire body seizing up and I realized it's still a little too cold for a nice swim. On the other hand, I did get the opportunity to learn what it would be like to live life as an ice cube.

OREGON COAST

While Mrs. Wife and I are anxiously hoping to join the Portland workforce, we are also taking advantage of some of our free days and visiting the places that we know will be overly crowded during the Portland summer weekends.

Our secret is out. No, we're not pregnant. Yes, we are shoving off and heading north to Portland!

WYLD BDAY

Yosemite Valley has long been a dream of mine. That dream still felt like I was dreaming while staring at it's most beautiful and polarizing huge landscapes. I do hope for an opportunity to revisit the park and explore the back country without the limitations of a 20 degree blizzard. However, after 3 years in Southern California, a blizzard was just what the doctor ordered.

I managed to dig up these old photos of us from 1978 and thought it would be fun to share them for 2015. Hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday!
