We just returned from a few days in the cold mountain air of the Sequoias with bears and secret swim holes. More pics and the story as soon as I get a few minutes...

After reading about this swim hole we knew we had to find it. To our surprise the trail had been sealed, the location was difficult to find, and after a 45 minute bushwack unkempt trail, the landscape opened to a majestic flowing river connecting punch bowls down the side of a mountain.

The highlight of the weekend was finding this swim hole. After having read about it and then discovering that it was closed off, we bushwhacked our way down to the river. We followed it for around 40 minutes, until it opened to a giant granite canyon of water slides and tubs of ice cold snow melt. We had it all to ourselves.
