If I had blogged in the summer of 2015, I would have written about how we almost killed our dogs by taking them to Deep Creek. I'm quite relieved that they didn't die, because as you know, our entire lives seem to revolve around these fat little creatures.

We're in the land of plenty and I want to see it all. I first saw these unique rock formations upon leaving Angeles Crest and exiting Wrightwood on to the 15. That was about 6 months ago and I finally got round exploring these with Keith.

I woke up Easter Sunday morning free from fever so I decided to go for a long morning moto through the mountains. That plan was quickly changed when I discovered that my plates were expired. The police presence seems to be a little thicker here and very eager to pull you over.
Sooo I went on a morning hike instead. I managed to hike directly into the low hanging clouds and snapped some photos while I was hiking. Quite the temperature change once crossing into the fog.

Really digging this project by Stephen Hilyard. Inspiring to say the least.
“Rapture of the Deep" consists of large prints of digitally manipulated landscape images. The series deals with the glamour of risk as personified by eight famous British mountaineers from the 70s and 80s, a golden age of high altitude mountaineering which made many of them national media figures. When I was growing up these men were my heroes and they all died in the mountains. Each piece in the series is named for one of them, along with the location of his death. These images were created from photographs I made of underwater landscapes at Silfra, a unique location in Iceland.” Found Via Adrifts |
2012
2:29:00 PMOne year ago today, after a solid snow filled Holiday we were met with a surprise 60 degree first day of 2011. This warm day caused an early...
I believe it this moment that I realized 2011 was going to be a cup half full type of a year. I realized I finally had someone to share the same desire to get back to nature, explore, be creative, and encourage each other's productivity professionally and personally.
MOPED URBAN EXPLORATION
4:17:00 PMClimbing into a abandoned building inhabited by very friendly homeless people you say? Sure, why not. I was a little put off by the mystery ...
Homeless man was actually very nice. Lots of people come in there to take photos, so besides that he smells like an anus, and poured his human waste in our walkway, he was a perfect gentleman.
Little freaked out to know what was slung all over our backs. I am just going to assume the worst. Bum shit, asbestos, peepee, and rain water. Look for this to pop up in a project I am working on this summer.
Some parts of St Louis look surprisingly unlike St Louis. Imagine if all these buildings were thriving businesses, rather than abandoned ghost buildings filled with squatters. Looks kind of Like a mini Dumbo or Bushwick. PS. there was a rap video being filmed a couple blocks away. It was probably a local youtube stl rapper... rapping on youtube.
Mopeds are getting lots of attention on my blog these days. I need to pay a little attention to my triumph, or it's probably going to leave me. So, while I am on the subject, check this out. What a wonderful trove of vintage moped images.
DOGS N DOGS
2:03:00 PMNo Mardi Gras for me this year, but I will gladly take a Soulard Dog Parade.

This photo just happened to snap as the elevator door opened with two security guards inside. Snap! Instant rap video.
I am really digging the new W Hollywood. One thing about my clients, they take care of us on fancy pants hotels. This pwns W Westwood.

Constant Need to Explore
12:35:00 PMWarm day in February, leads to wondering through places I haven't been in over a decade. This winter coming to an end, makes me restless...
A uniquely warm and quiet day spent down by near backwater of the Missisipi river. The wind blows but we aren't cold. A bottled up adventurous spirit is getting small doses of what it craves. A little global warming, for a little less depression.
